Like many journeys the evolution of Hedgerow Press Resin has been a joyful one.
With energy levels at an all time low following Susie's breast cancer diagnosis short walks in nature helped regain strength. Looking at hedgerow flowers was a joy. In 2021 Ernie the schnoodle puppy arrived and walking every day, watching the flowers through the seasons, collecting and pressing to make birthday cards was a tonic and a route back to full health.
Friends for over 20 years Jill and her dogs would often join Susie on her walks. Conversations often turned to how to share the therapeutic affects of flowers and nature with others.
.Jill discovered resin in the 1970's when Plasticraft was the number one Christmas gift for creative children. Since then Jill has created made many resin items from tiny buttons, jewellery and pots to a dining table. Jill firmly believes the crafting helps keep her brain active and creative.
One day on a sunny summer walk a eureka moment happened and the idea to put the flowers into the resin occurred and Hedgerow Press was born.
'Take only pictures, leave only footprints' is something Susie and Jill strongly believe in so although Jill already had a large garden with a patch of wild flowers surrounded by large hedgerows the wild seed planting had to be ramped up. The back garden is now entirely laid to wild flowers for a constant supply of local botanicals for the workshops. This adds to the sustainable individuality to everything created at a Hedgerow Press Resin workshops.
